5.3. Lunar Hēmerasia⁑
The offerings of marking the start of a lunar synodic month and the phases of the Moon time are to be done at or at the earliest available opportunity after the Moon reaches a particular phase, but may be celebrated at any point before the sunrise or sunset prior to the next phase, whichever is closer to said phase.
The Lunar Hēmerasia may be combined with other offerings and may be done as part of the Leitūrgia. However, when possible, the Lunar Hēmerasia celebrated for a new lunar month is best done on its own.
If done in a group, this offering should only be attended by group members unless the group decides otherwise. If done independently, it is best done alone.
5.3.1. Supplies and Tools Required⁑
A match or lighter
Offering dishes as necessary
A light
A candle or oil lamp are equally acceptable.
Narrow candles (e.g. tapers) or wide candles (e.g. tealights, votives) are equally acceptable.
Incense in a holder
The incense should be of a smell or blend of smells appropriate for general offerings.
Loose incense burning on charcoal in a brazier with a plate or handle is ideal, but self-igniting stick or cone incense burning in a holder that can easily and safely be held is acceptable.
Water and other drinks as desired
If a loibeion is present, an offering of water may be made from that directly.
Food and flowers as desired
Bell (optional)
Only offerings of light, incense, and drink are necessary in all cases. If desired, additional offerings of food or flowers may be made for the Moon beginning a new month.
5.3.2. Preparation⁑
Before the offering, if not being done as part as part of the Leitūrgia or as part of another offering, follow the Kanones of hygiene (full bathing preferred) and abstinence (lax preferred, strict required); the Kanones of clothing do not need to be followed if the offering is being made as part of the Leitūrgia, but should be it if it is being made on its own or as part of other offerings. A hormos may be worn for this offering if being combined with other offerings that should require it, or if one desires but is not otherwise required. This offering requires a bōmos.
5.3.3. Offering⁑

O all you children of mankind, o all you born of the Earth,o all who you have given yourselves over to drink and sleep in your ignorance of God!Make yourselves sober, cease your drunken sickness, end your bewitchment by unreasoning sleep! Why have you given yourselves over to death, when you have the power to claim immortality? You who have wandered with Error, you who have partnered with Ignorance:think again, think anew!Free yourselves from the darkness, take hold of the Light, take part in divine immortality, leave behind your corrupt destruction!Do not surrender to the way of death by your mockery or distance, but come, rise, and be guided on the way of life!

As the Moon carries out your will for the fulfillment of her purpose,so may we carry out your will for the fulfillment of our purposes.I give thanks to you, o God, o Maker of the Moon and me, o Life of Life, you who are beyond any name and have every name, you who are great beyond greatness and powerful beyond power, you who are Beauty and the source of all life and light, this and every month of all time in eternity! ※

5.3.3.5.1. Supplication of the Last Sighting⁑
The Moon leaves the domain of Night to enter the domain of Day,taking blinding refuge under the beams of the Sun,leaving the nighttime sky barren of her light, lit only with stars. So too do I take refuge and place my faith in the One,the Holy, the Maker, the Parent, the First, the Good, from whom all things come, to whom all things return. In this unseen Light which chases away all darknessdo I embark anew on my way, rededicate myself anew to the Way,and leave the world of darkness to enter the world of Light.
5.3.3.5.2. Supplication of the Unseen Conjunction⁑
The Moon joins herself to the Sun, rising as he rises, setting as he sets, invisible to all mortal eyes of flesh cast upwards or downwards, for the brightness of the beams of the Sun overwhelm all vision, dazzling the eyes and making them shut that they might not be blind.Let the eyes of my body look where they will if not the light of the Sun,but let the eyes of my mind look only to the Light of the Good, that holy Light that illumines all things truly and clearly, full of all immortality, all peace, all knowledge, all goodness.Let there always be for me true illumination of God.
5.3.3.5.3. Supplication of the First Sighting⁑
The Moon frees herself from the beams and the arms of the Sunand enters once more into her own domain of Night. The Moon begins a new cycle, a new trek, born fresh, born clean, bringing all of the world into fresh life with her.O holy month, o holy day, o holy time; grant me holiness!Let this be for me a time of freshness, newness, life, and growth, together with peace and victory and progress on the Way,for as the Moon begins a new month for her and for us all,so too may I set my mind to the Way anew, lit by the new light of the Moon.
5.3.3.5.4. Supplication of the Waxing in Light⁑
The Moon, in her course of the heavens, grows in light, and reflects more and more of the Sun unto the Earth.Light increases, power increases, presence increases;let this be a time of increase of all that is Good in the world.Let victory, success, wealth, safety, luck, happiness, strength, glory, long life, beauty, fortune, and peace grow and fill my life.May every blessing increase in my life and in the world, may every grace and mercy of God fall upon me and the world, and sustain us all as we proceed on the Way.
5.3.3.5.5. Supplication of the Full Opposition⁑
The Moon rises as the Sun sets, and sets as the Sun rises. The Moon reigns over the Night as the Sun reigns over the Day,having reached her fullness, her perfection, her glory beyond glory.Balance is attained, and Light fully fills the darkness deep!Let this light guide my steps in the darkness that I might not stumble;let this Light guide my heart in the cosmos that I might not wander.Darkness, however dark, cannot resist but be filled by the Light.Let this be my power and my strength, my hope and my guide.Perfection is shown to me now; let me always strive for perfection in God.
5.3.3.5.6. Supplication of the Waning in Light⁑
The Moon, in her course of the heavens, recedes from light, and reflects less and less of the Sun unto the Earthas the cosmos sends forth and receives back the blessing of Light.Moonlight is replaced by starlight as the Moon returns to the Sun;let all that binds, hinders, and obstructs me be lessened!Every suffering, disease, danger, hate, sorrow, adversity, misfortune, and every malefic influence from within and beyond me vanishas the light of the Moon recedes from the eyes of those on Earth.Let my soul be freed and made light in the Light on the Way.

Hail to you, o Moon, heavenly lady resplendent in your silvery light and manifold forms, upon whom and through whom the Beauty of God always shines! As you light up your course in the heavens, whirling and carrying the light from one star and spirit to the next, God brightens the night and illumines all the world by divine Light through your own light, you who fulfill your purpose effortlessly and joyously to exalt your creator and mine! O Moon, o blessed power exalted as regent of the world with all privilege and authority, o holy one whose is the lamp of the night, grant that I may be made to be among the most pure, protected, fortunate, and satisfied of all whom you have ever shone upon!
